It's taking away the more serious tone of the last two THOR movies and shows that it's going to be a little more fun." It plays along to Thor being a badass and kicking butt. The reason playing Immigrant Song twice works is due to Immigrant Song being a "Payoff" at the end. Having a rock song in the beginning of the movie then a completely different song 2 hours later wouldn't have the same connection and would feel out of place. If you want to start playing music, you would need to go full James Gunn and showcase it throughout the film and make it part of the soundtrack. Having two different Rock songs in the movie would be more random than having the same song twice. The Immigrant Song, while also talks about war and battle, is still vague enough and simple enough not to contain too much dark images. ![]() Secondly the lyrics depict a darker character being "raised by demons", saying he will "rob you of your virgin soul", and also "gather darkness to please me And I command you to kneel". For one thing, it's about Greek mythology, not Norse mythology. The lyrics to God of Thunder don't fit with Thor.
